LOVE YOU – STILL

Love is an emotion that surpasses a multitude of faults and cancels out fear. It is the emotion that conceals matters when situations lead to bitterness. It is the feeling that causes one to act when the flesh and mind say, “Stop. No. I’m done.”

The Message

Love is the greatest teacher. Opening your heart to love others is one of the greatest attributes given to human beings by God. Giving of yourself and forgetting all biases and prejudices (you already feel a certain way about someone) demonstrates true love at its core. Love protects and shields. And, when we choose to see through the eyes of our Father, we are given the gift to love beyond faults. It is truly a beautiful thing. Have you ever witnessed the miraculous power of love? Have you loved someone in spite of their shortcomings? Can you see the person’s attributes, pettiness, faults, mistakes, and mishaps, and choose to love them – still? Maybe it’s easier to see through the opposite lens by considering yourself. Take a moment to think about your faults, imperfections, and flaws. Nevertheless, despite these issues, struggles, and even drama, someone chooses to love you – still. Love doesn’t get much better than that.

Love is me choosing to see you and you choosing to see me. It is recognizing that you are not perfect; that we all have faults. We have all hurt others at one point or another, but when someone hurts us, we deem it a misdemeanor, maybe even a felony depending on the level of pain we feel. Oh, how quickly we forget that no one is perfect. Sometimes, we settle in a protective space and comfort ourselves by saying, “I’m done. They will never hurt me again. They will never have the opportunity to trample on my heart again.” We sometimes forget God, Himself, loves us with unconditional love; so much so that He gave His life that we might live. We are living because of God’s amazing love! That alone is a beautiful thing!
