Point of Reference

March 13, 20180

I was speaking with a girlfriend today.  We discussed moving on from those that have once hurt us.  I posed a question to her.  I asked how do you move on from someone that has caused you pain and how do you not allow to pain to set you back? For example, when you see individuals that caused the initial hurt, how do you keep moving forward and not sink back in those negative emotions?  Her response was, “Good question, I don’t know.”  I gave her a hint.  The hint was to use your point of reference.  If God has brought you through something hurtful, painful, ETC… reflect back on the good part. Don’t waste time revisiting thoughts of those people that caused you hurt; however, revisit how God has kept you this far and meditate on how Good God has been. Focus on the positive. Your point of reference is God’s goodness and mercy and not on mean people.
