I recollect complaining to my father about not having enough money for something special I wanted to purchase. An outfit of course. Quickly, my father responded and said “Daughter, what do you have on today? Appreciate today and tomorrow will take care of itself.” However, those words from my father weren’tpiercing enough at that very moment to make me change my mind for what I needed that week. Well here comes a bible debate, I thought. Truth spoke! I received a life-changing wordthat would shape my perception forever. Once my father spoke the words to me, immediately, I stated, “now that’s deep.” An eye-opening passage of scripture. Here it is.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: (Matthew 6:25-28)
