Many wounded hearts and scarred lives are masked behind fake smiles
and words of comfort, “I’m good.” “I’m okay.” “I’m Cool.” “Nothing
is wrong.” Behind the masks are broken hearts, silent cries for help,
and someone clinging on for dear life. We can sympathize but we can
never fully understand unless we have walked in someone’s shoes.
Life can be chaotic and complicated for many reasons and at different
seasons. We all can testify from different places and emotions of the
challenges life has brought us. I see now that my journey has been
rewarding as I reflect on what could have been or should have been.
Yet, grace has been unmatched in my life. Grace has shown up when
I could have easily checked out or given up. I’m sure you can say the
same. When you pause and listen to life lessons from others, it is easy
to see how merciful God is. My stories, your stories are not that bad
after all. Hearing others’ stories moves you from a place of pity and
complaining to a deep place of gratitude. You begin to appreciate life
at a whole new level. Life is good! It is no longer as complicated as
the Enemy made it seem. I’ve come to realize God permits situations
in our lives so we can gain new perspectives, new hope, and new
meaning for life…
